February 4th every year is set aside globally to raise awareness towards prevention, detection and treatment of the scourge of cancer.
Health experts has projected deaths by cancer to rise to 13 million if we fail to take action. It’s Reported that more people die each year from cancer than HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria put together.
Cancer is a broad term used to describe an uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in any part of the body.
Cancer do not discriminate, male and female are can be affected, with age not standing as a barrier either.
Some Cancer cases can be prevented, cured if detected early and with the right treatment timely. There is an urgent need to take action on prevention, early detection and treatment to help save more lives.
There is no doubt of numerous challenges facing the fight against the scourge. Now is the time to raise more public enlightenment and awareness for a change in myths, misconception, behaviours and attitude towards Cancer and those affected.
