In 2017 after she underwent a mastectomy on her left breast; this was the beginning of a journey that would forever alter Serah’s life.
Middle aged Serah Yugh is said to have undergone eight sessions of chemotherapy, six rounds of radiotherapy and a single mastectomy on her left breast before realizing she did not have breast cancer as misdiagnosed by the Benue State Teaching Hospital doctor.
In an investgative report by Socrates Mbamalu and published by Foundation For Investigative Journalism (FIJ), which narrated how Serah started losing weight while undergoing her mandatory one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) assignment in Ekiti State.
After series of tests conducted and hospital visit to seek solution, she found none. Seraph quest for solution to her health challenge led her to Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi and thereafter to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) at her sister’s suggestion.
