Governor Simon Bako Lalong at the official Launching of PLASCHEMA.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Dr. Simon Bako Lalong has officially launch the Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (PLASCHEMA) and also commence the enrollment of Plateau citizens into the Plateau State Social Health Insurance Scheme on the 15th September, 2020.<\/p>\n

This is a step by the rescue administration towards achieving Universal Health Coverage in Plateau State, as only the healthy can participate fully in economic and social activities that contribute to the development of their communities.<\/p>\n

Governor Lalong stated that his administration is also focusing on upgrading health facilities in the State to meet global standards through the Lalong Legacy Projects and currently constructing 6 hospitals across the three (3) senatorial districts in meeting the increasing demand for qualitative, preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative healthcare throughout the State.<\/p>\n

The Governor also stated that his hope is that the take-off of the scheme will guarantee access to quality and timely healthcare services for the elderly, physically and mentally challenged, children less than five (5) years, orphaned and vulnerable children, pregnant women and the Internally Displaced Persons, who at the moment face difficulties.<\/p>\n

In his speech, the Governor also thank the Speaker and Hon. Members of the Plateau State House of Assembly\u00a0 for giving due and timely consideration to the PLASCHEMA bill and passing it into law which gives the agency the legal support to achieve its set objectives and impact positively to the health and well-being of Plateau citizens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
