With lots of MYTHS, traditions and religious beliefs impending people willingness in taking vaccine, especially the COVID-19 vaccine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3492\" src=\"https:\/\/afrib.org.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Screenshot_20210501-062037-300x158.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"158\" srcset=\"https:\/\/afrib.org.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Screenshot_20210501-062037-300x158.png 300w, https:\/\/afrib.org.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Screenshot_20210501-062037.png 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>What Is A VACCINE?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A vaccine is a product that stimulates a person&#8217;s immune system (Body Defense) to produce immunity (Protection) against a specific disease.<\/p>\n<p>The latest vaccine available for use is the COVID Vaccine and its job is to protect lives against COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>MYTH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Vaccines are not adequately tested for safety.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>FACT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vaccines like other drugs are SAFE and EFFECTIVE.<\/p>\n<p>Vaccines, before they&#8217;re released for public use, must have gone through many processes to prove they are safe and effective at preventing the specific disease they target.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>MYTH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>I&#8217;m breastfeeding, so my child is protected from infections.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>FACT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Breastfeeding is NEVER a substitute for vaccination\/immunization for children.<\/p>\n<p>Breastfeeding protects against certain infections but this protection is only temporary, unlike the vaccines that are permanent.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>MYTHS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Most vaccine preventable diseases are not serious.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>FACT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All the diseases children are vaccinated against are VERY SERIOUS and can be life threatening too.<\/p>\n<p>Studies shows that Tuberculosis kills 10% or more of its victims, most babies that survive whooping cough end up with brain damage etc.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3493\" src=\"https:\/\/afrib.org.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Screenshot_20210501-062541-300x170.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/afrib.org.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Screenshot_20210501-062541-300x170.png 300w, https:\/\/afrib.org.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Screenshot_20210501-062541.png 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>MYTH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The COVID-19 vaccine affects women&#8217;s fertility.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>FACT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The COVID-19 vaccine will never affect a woman&#8217;s fertility.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>MYTH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>If I&#8217;ve already had COVID, I don&#8217;t need the vaccine.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>FACT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>People who have gotten COVID will still need the vaccine to prevent re-infection.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>MYTH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Researchers rushed the production of the COVID-19 vaccine, so its effectiveness and safety can&#8217;t be trusted.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>FACT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Studies have shown that the two initial vaccines are both 95% effective and no reported serious or life-threatening side effects.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>MYTH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The side effects of the COVID vaccine are dangerous.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>FACT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The COVID-19 vaccines like other drugs have side effects but they are short-term and not serious or dangerous to health.<\/p>\n<p>They include body ache, fever, pain at the injection site, etc. These signs show the vaccine is working.<\/p>\n<p>The truth remains that these vaccines are very very safe as they&#8217;ve been tried and tested.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the diseases these vaccines prevent are not curable like Hepatitis B.<\/p>\n<p>Start immunizing your children from birth and follow it up to date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In developing Countries, there are still lot of issues surrounding vaccination against vaccines preventable and deadly diseases.
