Dr. Casmir Ifeanyi, the president elect of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria who was sworn in on the 7th of February, 2026.

In his acceptance speech to delegates, board members, past leaders, and fellow medical laboratory scientists.
Dr. Casmir Ifeanyi call all to embrace unity, learn from past challenges, and committ to a future where all members of the association work together for the common good. He aims to lead with integrity and focus on the well-being of both the association and public health in Nigeria.

Dr. Casmir expresses thanks for being elected President and acknowledges the responsibility that comes with the role. He sees this victory not just as a personal achievement but as a trust from the members of the association.
He emphasizes that the decision made by the members at the poll shows a preference for unity and stability rather than conflict and uncertainty which is important for the future of the association.
He stated that the journey to this point has been tough, especially after the previous leadership (the 15th National Executive Council) was dissolved in November 2025 after the peace reconciliation meeting. He reflects on the lessons learned from that experience, stressing that AMLSN is more important than any individual leader.
Dr. Casmir celebrates the democratic election process and congratulates others who ran for office, recognizing their efforts to strengthen the association through healthy competition.
He thanks the Electoral Committee chaired by Dr. Donald Ofili for their hard work and integrity during the election process.
Looking ahead Dr. Ifeanyi outlines his priorities:
– Rebuilding trust and unity within the association.
– Following rules and procedures in governance.
– Protecting professional standards and the welfare of members.
– Empowering younger members and encouraging accountability.
– Positioning AMLSN as a strong voice in Nigeria’s health sector.
Finally, the President invites everyone, including those who may have felt left out or critical of recent events, to come together. He stresses that there should be no winners or losers, only a united association working towards a common future.
