The president of the African Development Bank (AFDB) and former Minister of agriculture in Nigeria, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina has reacted to a statement by a United Kingdom parliamentarian who said General Yakubu Gowon looted half of Nigeria wealth when he led the country.
In a tweet by the AFDB president verified twitter handle @akin_adesina, “Be careful of misinformation! H.E. General Yakubu Gowon, Nigeria’s former Head of State, is a man of great honour, decency, honesty, amazing simplicity, humility and integrity. I know him. A great and admirable elder statesman of Nigeria. His honesty and integrity are impeccable”.
