BY: Ibadin John,
We consistently blamed the 1914 amalgamation of the Southern and Northern protectorates of Nigeria. We impeccably insult the colonial Masters and their administration of how they have been unjust to us as a nation. We call them names and sometimes swear that we will never forgive them because of the theatre of slavery they plunged us into.
Hmmmm! It’s over 50 years that they have left us, our brothers took over power and it is as if the days of the colonial administration was better. Today, our brothers fly with the tax payers money for medical, fashion and ecstasy tourism living our people in abject poverty.
They make legislations that only favours them while the ordinary citizens protest and go on incessant strikes to bring home their demands. Yet, nothing good comes out of it. Our hospitals have become mere consulting rooms, our schools have become a citadel where mediocrity is promoted and our environment has become infested with the swam of degradation.
Are the thieves not among us? Are the thieves not the ones in power? Are the thieves not worse than the colonial master? Are the thieves not political prostitutes that move without ideology from one political party to another? Are the thieves not bread and butter politicians? are the thieves not bootlickers? Are the thieves not……….
Citizens, we must arise in every sense of the word to bring these thieves down and take them out of power. We must work towards bringing sane Nigerians who have the interest of the nation to the corridor of power so that we could once again regain our place as a center place for Africa’s development because all that has ever been, all that is and all that will ever be is a function of our mind power given to us by the creator to make our society a better place to live in.
