The FCT branch of the Young Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum (YMLSF) Visited the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) orientation Camp in Kubwa, Bwari Council Area, Abuja, and donated Items To Camp Clinic.
The visit is in line with the aspirations of the YMLSF FCT newly elected executives of having a consolidated FCT forum.
The team of YMLSF FCT delegates led by MLS Stephanie Omoarebun, Chairman YMLSF FCT visited the Clinic Coordinator, and Batch C Stream 1 Corp Medical Laboratory Scientists at the Camp in Kubwa,
The FCT YMLSF team was warmly received by the FCT NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Winifred Shokpeka, the FCT NYSC Camp Director, Mrs. Ogba Rita, the FCT NYSC Clinic Coordinator, Mrs. Aifuobhokan Gift, and the Chief Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS Lawrence Pere-ere Faith.
The purpose of the visit was to orient the serving corp members on the missions and vision of the forum and their roles in its betterment and engage in enlightening conversations as regards their professional practice post-orientation camp.
The chairman in her remarks, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the warm reception accorded to the team from senior officials of the orientation camp.
She also highlighted the purpose of the visit and its impact on the NYSC clinic facility, MLS corp members, and the forum in FCT. She noted that part of her team’s key agenda was inclusion and association for all YMLS in FCT; which includes the corps members.
She reassured them of the support of the forum when needed, and conveyed the goodwill of the YMLSF National President; who urged them to be good ambassadors of the forum and by extension the profession.
In furtherance to the chairmans’ dedicationton providing a synergized forum and an inclusive atmosphere where every voice is heard, everyone is valued and their welfare is prioritized, MLS OGBE ETABA SUNDAY was appointed as the NYSC – YMLSF Liaison Officer; who going forward would be the bridge between the forum and the corps Medical Laboratory Scientists.
The team in the course of the visit made the following donation to the NYSC FCT camp clinic:

– 1 Tourniquet
– 1 Packet of Round Boil Plaster
– 1 Adhesive Plaster

– 1 Packet of Medical Tissue

In an appreciative note, Mrs Gift the Clinic Coordinator on behalf of the State Coordinator and Camp Director, received the donations with gratitude, and thanked the chairman for her generosity and the forums’ thoughtfulness.
She congratulated the newly elected executives and expressed her happiness at the emergence of the branch first female chairman, citing her desire to work with her.
