Vaginal wetness may come from two basic source; the Bartholin glands or the cervix.
Most forms of vaginal wetness experience, come from one of two places:

Bartholin glands:

Bartholin glands are two small, pea-sized glands located inside the vagina. Their main function is to lubricate the vagina to prevent excessive dryness. They also produce moisture when a lady feels aroused, and during sexual activity.

Cervix:

The cervix produces mucus throughout a lady menstrual cycle. As ovulation approaches, the cervix is expected to produces more fluid. This fertile cervical mucus will help active sperm travel to the egg, increasing the odds of pregnancy.

Usually, a normal healthy vagina is slightly moist.  According to Dr. Jen Gunter, an obstetrician-gynecologist, “healthy females produce 1–4 milliliters (ml) of vaginal fluid in a day on average”.

The amount of discharge secreted by a healthy lady may change from day-to-day, and both Bartholin glands and the cervix secretions can change over time. Just as ovulation approaches, a lady may experience more vaginal wetness since the cervix secrets more fluid at this time.

When a female feels sexually aroused, the Bartholin glands produce more fluid. This fluid secreted help to lubricate the vagina during sexual activities, reducing the risk of painful sex and injuries. Most ladies notice their vagina becomes more lubricated during sex even if they do not feel aroused and it is normal for the vagina to feel wet for an hour or two after sexual activities or arousal.
