The Plateau State Governor, Dr Simon Lalong has ordered the prompt rejuvenation of the Plateau State Monthly Environmental Sanitation with effect from Saturday, 29th August, 2020.
The Governor, in his press release stated that “Citizens are hereby enjoined to come out and clean their surroundings, in addition to their interior, emphasis should also be placed on the cutting of grown grasses and clearing of drainages around homes and business premises”.
All movement into and out of the state will be restricted except for those on essential services between the hours of 7.00 and 10.00 a.m. with all entry and exit points closed.
The Government of Plateau State is said to take this action in the overall best interest of the health and safety of all citizen’s.
Parents and guardians have been adviced to keep their wards in check as Security agents and Mobile courts have been duly set in place to apprehend and try offenders who will not comply with government directive.
Going forward, this environmental exercise will routinely hold last Saturday of every month until further notice.
