The Nigeria Footbal league champion, Plateau United Begin their CAF Champions League campaign today, loosing 1-0 to their visitors Simba SC of Tanzania.
The the first leg of the preliminary round took place at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday. With the 1-0 lost at home to Tanzania’s side, Plateau United now have a tough task ahead of advancing to the first round of the CAF Champions League.

Tazania Clatous Chama scored the goal for the visitors ten (10) minutes into the second half of the game.
As the Nigerian champions, Plateau came into the match with high hopes of profiting from a home advantage against the visitors, who appeared in this year’s competition as Tanzania’s kings.

Plateau United were denied goals by the Tanzania international goalkeeper, Aishi Manula who pulled off a number of big saves.

The match was watched by Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong, Nigeria Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr and Nigeria sports Minister, Sunday Dare.
