A leading aspirant for the position of House of Representatives, Owan Federal Constituency has warned against intimidation of delegates in the forthcoming party primary elections in Owan.
In his words:
“As we approach the last days before party primaries to elect party flag bearers in the general elections, I want to enjoin everyone to protect the common interest of Owan our constituency with all sense of responsibility.
Owan has been maltreated and denied of the dividends of democracy in recent years owing to the choice of representatives that are often presented for elections.
The effect of which we have had persons not representing the interest of the Constituency, but their personal interests.
In the past few weeks, the aspirants have been given the opportunity to meet with the delegates and present their visions for assessment, therefore the delegates should be allowed to make the best choice on behalf of the party, and for the common good of the Constituency, without any external intrusions and obtrusions.
I believe the delegates know the antecedents of all the aspirants, they should not be intimidated, threatened, railroaded or compelled to make a decision contrary to their good conscience and to the best interest of the Constituency.
We need to get it right this time, for good of Owan Constituency, Owan People, and the future of the Owan Nation.
God bless Owan”
