Within the next three (3) days, at least twenty-five (25) states in Nigeria are expected to see moderate to heavy rainfall according to the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet).
An area comprising Sokoto, Kebbi, Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Yobe, Borno, Edo, Gombe, Bauchi, Adamawa, Taraba, Benue, Niger, Kogi, Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Imo, Akwa Ibom, Abia, Cross River and Ebonyi State are expected to have moderate to heavy rainfall, according to NiMet.
In addition, NiMet’s weather advisory on Tuesday 5th said that light to moderate rainfall was anticipated over several areas in Lagos, Ogun, and Adamawa. The agency noted that very little to no rain was anticipated for the remainder of the nation.
The moderate to severe rains forecast, especially on Thursday and Friday, raises the possibility of flash flooding.
